Capone's Children | Graham Thoms Iphone Part

Graham was on a mission to make an iphone full length of all of the homies he was skating with in the Chicago 2023 winter season, but a series of unfortunate events leave us with only his part two years later.
Skateboarding crews are always changing, documenting it is key because you never know when you are documenting the peak of an era . . .

Words from Graham

"Yeah so I was determined to make a full length of Chicago heads, strictly Chicago spots, and Chicago music for the soundtrack. The title called "Capone's Children". I began it some years ago just before winter hit, so most clips were shot in various parking garages. My goal was to film and edit it all on the phone, no budget. I was stacking clips of the homies, wanting to give some parts to OG's who never had one yet in all these years, and then the other parts to those who are skating the loof (the chicago loop) consistently. Montage, cityscape views, loop hijinx from street peeps, cops, and bums was quick to gather because downtown doesn't sleep. And my tricks turned into a part fast cuz obviously I was on every mission for the project. So I had the intro, outro, and my part done, and then was developing the rest of it.. this is just how it naturally progressed.

In the process I went on a trip to Paris, got into some street action, and right then my phone was jacked. The only section I had backed up was my part, cuz that was ready for the final cut, but the rest I hadn't saved elsewhere because it was all constantly evolving as I was adding to it as the sessions went on.

So that was that. Project closed, no video. I would never be able to replace those clips, and music I dug so deep in mixtapes and such that I would never find all the songs again. So I decided that the whole idea is RIP. See here is the only evidence that the video was in motion, and it is quite funny how the "Capone's Children" suddenly vanished into thin air out of no where. Sometimes those things happen. Just a Chicago story in a moment of time."
